Key System Components
Aldes MicroWatt 90 MVHR unit
The Microwatt MVHR unit uses forward curved fans specially selected for low noise and a flow/presssure characteristic which is suited to constant volume operation. The heat exchanger is sized to recover up to 90% of the available energy from the air extracted, whilst keeping pressure loss to a minimum. The microwatt motor, by adjusting its speed, limits energy consumption and generates very little noise.
It is available in two formats 'horizontal' and 'vertical'. The horizontal unit is a two piece unit. The key features of the Microwatt unit are explained below:
Can be located where desired
The Microwatt 90 unit is a modular design which comprises two sections: a motor unit and a heat exchanger casing. This permits a several different mounting options.

Microwatt 90 Mounting Options
The casing of the heat exchanger unit is designed to allow drainage of condensate regardless of which way it is installed. It is possible to install the heat exchanger section within the heated area of the house if desired.
SAP Appendix Q listed
The Microwatt 90 is approved and listed on SAP Appendix Q. It is certified for applications where there is a kitchen and up to 7 additional wet rooms.
The specific performance figures for use with DEAP are listed in the table below.

Easy to install
The Microwatt 90 casing is designed using Expanded Polypropylene(EPP) which results in light weight and high insulation levels. There are several installation permutaions. It may be suspended or floor mounted as desired.

Self Balancing Extract Grilles
The Aldes self balancing grilles are an essential part of the system. There are three types available:
Occupancy sensing Only
These grilles provide a minimum base airflow rate but open to a higher extract rate when the presence of a person is detected in the room. They are ideal for providing extract from WCs in accordance with the requirements of the building regulations.

Humidity sensing Only
These grilles provide vary the extract rate in accordance with the level of humidity measured in the room. The higher the humidity;the higher the extract rate. They are ideal for providing extract from utility rooms, bathrooms and showers in accordance with the requirements of the building regulations.

Occupancy and Humidity Sensing
These grilles provide vary the extract rate in accordance with the level of humidity measured in the room. The higher the humidity;the higher the extract rate. They also have a built in occupancy sensor so that they can boost extraction to a higher level if the presence of a person is detected in the room. They are ideal for providing extract from bathrooms or showers where a WC is also installed.

Balanced Supply air distribution
The air distribution system is designed to be self balancing by using the special Aldes air distribution boxes. These units are available for both flexible and rigid ducts and ensure that airflow is balanced between all duct branches. Other systems use combinations of Tees and bends to achieve distribution which do not permit correct balancing of the system.

Flat Duct Distribution Plenum

Flexible Duct Distribution Plenum
The air supply diffusers allow the adjustment of the angle and direction of the airflow to allow full use of the coanda effect. The flowrate may be easily set by adjusting the flap on each grille. This type of control is not possible when using conventional core grilles.
