Dimensions
• Fan Unit: 570 x 570 x 270 mm – 17 kg
• Heat Exchanger Unit: 790 x 570 x 270 mm – 13 kg
Location
The Microwatt 90 is intended for installation in a utility room, Hot Press, Plant Room, Attic or Garage. It is important that there is sufficent space around the unit and sufficent access for service and filter replacement.
Installation Options
The Standard Microwatt 90 unit is delivered in two parts, the fan unit and the heat exchanger.

Fan Unit and Heat Exchanger Unit
These may be connected together to form a single unit with a horizontal configuration as shown below or may be separately installed.

Mounting
Suspension from above
The unit may be suspended from above using threaded rod. This is ideal for applications where the unit is mounted overhead with access for service and filter change froim below. (e.g. above suspended ceilings.)
Accessories needed for fitting the casings and condensate evacuation are supplied with the unit as standard. These include:
- Mounting brackets
- Anti-vibration mounts used to isolate the unit from the building structure and limit the transmission of noise.
- Condensation water drain fitting.

Floor mounting
This is a good option in attics and other locations where the unit will be serviced from above. A DeeFly floor mounting kit is required. This includes:
- Brackets which are mounted on the casing using the screws supplied.
- Anti-vibration mounts used to isolate the unit from the building structure and limit the transmission of noise.
- Condensation water drain fitting with spacer. The spacer is mounted with
2 screws to a point designed for this purpose under the heat exchanger.

Separate Mounting
The fan unit and heat exchanger unit may be separately mounted as shown. This has the advantage that the heat exchanger unit can be mounted in the heated space while the fan unit is installed elsewhere(attic, garage, etc.)
In order to limit vibration transmission, it is best to use flexible ducts or sleeves for connections to the fan unit.

Separate Mounting of the Fan and Heat Exchanger Units
When the units are installed separately, it will sometimes be advantageous to mount the heat exchanger unit vertically.
- The unit may be Wall-mounting using brackets supplied with the product.
- A T-piece and drain should be fitted to allow drainage of condensate as shown.

Vertical Mounting
The Microwatt 90 unit may be configured so that all of the connections face upwards. The unit is mounted vertically as shown. This configuration must be specifically ordered and cannot be altered on site.

Vertical Installation of Microwatt 90
The condensate drain must be connected underneath as shown.
Condensate Drainage
A condensate drainage pipe should be connected to the drainage point.
A U-trap must be installed to ensure that the condensate drains away.
Wiring
The wiring is simple and straightforward. The following wiring connections are required.
- 230V power connection to the fan unit as shown.
- Connection of the Remote Control via a two core bus cable. The bus cable should not be routed with mains voltage cables to avoid electrical interference.

Microwatt 90 Electrical Connections
Control
A remote control unit is included which may be mounted in a standard electrical fitting. This allows the user to operate the unit as desired and monitor the filter condition.

The Microwatt 90 controller
Setting the airflow
The air flow rate is set by simply pressing on speed control button.
- Speed 1: Standard airflow
- Speed 2: High speed – kitchen, timed for 30 minutes;Improves extraction of odours and humidity due to cooking.
- Speed 3: High speed – manual control – designed to improve comfort throughout the house.
Bypass control (optional)
The right hand button is used to open the bypass. The opening of the bypass is indicated by a blue light. The bypass stops pre-heating of the fresh air by diverting it past the heat exchanger. This option is not normally fitted in temperate climates such as Ireland or the UK.
Filter blocked warning and system fault indicators
The red warning light on the controls shows possible malfunctions of the Microwatt 90 system and tells the user that the filter is blocked.
- Light lit constantly: Filter fault (change filters).
- Flashing light: Motor fault
De-icing
The unit automatically de-ices itself thanks to a sensor located under the air discharge.
