The HP90 W is a R744 (CO2) three phase water/water commercial heat pump from Enerblue, a leading Italian manufacturer of chillers and heat pumps.

The HP90 CO2 heat pump can deliver up to 90°C and is available in heating capacities from 16kW up to 137.9kW, and may be cascaded to provide larger capacities. They are ideal for commercial applications where a large volume of water heating is required.

The ability to provide water heating at up to 90°C with source water outlet temperatures as low as -10°C offers excellent flexibility.  The HP 90 W must be paired with a stratified cylinder or multiple calorifiers in series.

The supercritical nature of the CO2 refrigeration cycle means these products are ideally suited to producing domestic hot water.  The cooler the user side inlet temperature, the greater the cooling of the refrigerant in the condenser which allows more heat to be absorbed from the source side during evaporation.  This means that they are ideally suited to heating water from cold and high COPs are achieved even with very high outlet temperatures.

R744 (CO2) has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of just 1, which is only a small fraction of traditional refrigerants (up to 2,500). This makes it a far more environmentally friendly choice than traditional refrigerants.
